" Most people look for qualifications in education and career accomplishments. My educational background includes a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science Degree in Analytical Chemistry. My career choices have included working as a research chemist, product formulator, medical technologist, curriculum developer, school administrator and classroom teacher. My experience as an educator spans more than 40 years.
While growing up in Mississippi and working in the cotton fields, my mother told me everyday that she had prayed to the "Lawd" that I be a teacher ( when she was pregnant with me). She wanted me to finish high school and go further than her in life. She always yearned for something better for her children. So many years, I told my mother that I was not going to be a teacher. Although, my mother is no longer physically with me, I am slowly awakening to the fact that she planted the sounds of " teacher" in me while I was rotating in her womb. Also, I am growing to understand the power of a mother's yearning particularly if she is a praying mother. Now, that I am a mother and grandmother, life's challenges have taught me that parents are very special in the lives of children. All of us should be thankful for our parents' sacrifices , especially our mothers. One thing for sure, my mother propelled me on the path of life long learning while I was being shaped in her womb....WOW!
As a Lifelong Learner, I know that I am a Name Reader not because of my education or career . I AM A NAME READER because the Creator shared HIS GIFT of HEARING SOUNDS (with me).
